Yes& is looking for a Public Relations Director who is responsible for guiding the daily activities of the account team, and providing counsel and assistance to members of the Public Relations Department, the agency, and clients.

 

 

 

What You Will Do

  • Develop and oversee the development and strategic direction of a comprehensive public relations campaign that uses media, publicity, and live events to develop awareness for products, services, and/or circumstances
  • Lead the establishment of target audiences and the creation of messages. Ensure that the messages’ integrity is kept and that the calls to action are clear and compelling. Assess program effectiveness and recommend changes, if required
  • Manage other public relations staff and Media Specialists
  • Oversees budgeting of media-related projects or project components. Represents client to the press and public by acting as chief corporate spokesperson
  • Field and direct responses to all media-related inquiries
  • Plan and implement clients’ public relations strategies, policies, and procedures
  • Research and write copy for client promotional materials
  • Maintain database of public relations contacts
  • Advise on the preparation and presentation of product or service information at trade shows, displays, and exhibits
  • Assist and coach company staff with public speaking engagements, presentations and preparation of articles for publication
  • Work with marketing and advertising personnel to coordinate public relations activities with promotional and sales activities
  • Advise management on community relations projects and activities
  • Assist in developing and conducting customer opinion surveys and manage public relations aspects of customer testing programs

Experience You Need

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent, and 10 or more years of experience in a public relations environment to include content creation, marketing, and public relations
  • At least 5 years of managerial experience within a small to medium-sized agency setting
  • Significant experience with B2C client work
  • Proficiency with Google Suite products and Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Superior writing, research, and oral presentation skills
  • Financial management of client deliverables
  • Ability to manage and oversee multiple complex projects and accounts
  • Experience with managing internal creative, digital, and strategic communications teams, as well as external vendors and freelance consultants
  • Must be a US Citizen and able to pass a Public Trust Security Clearance

Experience that Would be a Plus, but not Required

  • MBA, or Advanced degree in Marketing or Management
  • Application of AgencyAgile, including Roadmapping and Resourcing
  • Time reporting and project management in Workamajig
  • Familiarity with government clients and/or insurance programs
