Yes& is looking for a Senior Brand & Communications Strategist that will work with both assigned clients and internal team members to guide brand-related initiatives. The individual will ensure a high standard of work when it comes to collaborating and executing deliverables alongside a variety of cross-departmental professionals. 

What You Will Do

  • Responsible for serving as the lead strategist across several pieces of business
    • You know how to sell strategy and are able to help account teams do so across clients
    • You bring new approaches to problem solving and strategy design within the agency
    • You will be the quarterback for  heavyweight pitch opportunities, often leading the team from the get-go in terms of approach
  • You will define and drive alignment around strategic agenda for your client(s):
    • The objectives of the campaign(s) or projects align to business goals
    • The messaging aligns to objectives
    • An appropriate measurement strategy is in place
  • You understand complex marketing programs and you will be the main architect for integrated communications and channel planning
  • Serve as the overall coordinator of strategic excellence, bringing in other disciplines (content strategists, digital/social strategists, UX/UI team members, analysts, etc. where needed)
  • You will assemble and run workshops
  • You know how to define and refine overall brand purpose, architecture and messaging for key projects
  • You can create and convert new business opportunities  within your clients/projects
  • Serve as lead strategist on assigned clients and business development projects
  • Develop accurate and insightful conclusions from research data, presenting strategy and direction to internal team and client
  • Craft creative briefs and provide clear persuasive briefings for creatives. Briefs include:
    • Defining the business situation
    • Articulating the value proposition of the brand
    • Establishing clear and measurable objectives
    • Creating a deep understanding of the target audience within the assigned channel
    • Driving understanding of emerging digital platforms and ability to leverage for the client
  • Provide leadership and guidance for other team members on branding initiatives

Experience You Need

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college in Communications/Marketing, Business, Economics, Psychology/Sociology, Journalism or other related field
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills
  • Excellent deck creation and storytelling skills
  • 6 – 10 years’ experience in an advertising agency or in related field
  • Specific experience in planning, research, insights, or emerging media
  • Demonstrated success with client relationships, team management and business development
  • Track record of inspiration - have you ever led an internal trends initiative? Started a blog? Etc.
